The new BMW M4 GT4 is on the right track.
As part of the BMW Motorsport season finale in Munich, there is a first look at the new customer sport racer, which is to close the gap between the BMW M6 GT3 and the BMW M235i Racing for beginners.
The new BMW M4 GT4 has already been used in the DTM test drives in Oschersleben, Portimao and Jerez. Jens Klingmann is enthusiastic: “The new M4 GT4 is a lot of fun and has an enormous potential.” BMW Motorsport Manager Jens Marquardt is satisfied: “We have received very positive feedback from the drivers so far.”
On the outside, there are few changes compared to the standard vehicle. Especially the large front splitter and the rear wing are however striking. A modified bodywork makes the GT4 even more aggressive than it already is. The carbon front cover comes from the BMW M4 GTS, while the racing bolides even have the doors made of carbon fiber.
The interior is still in its infancy, in many places the GT4 acts provisionally. Many parts, including the seat, pedalbox and brakes were taken over by the big brother, the BMW M6 GT3. The oval steering wheel with paddle grip underlines the engine-sporting character of the GT4-Boliden.
BMW fans do not have to wait a long time for the first race: the BMW M4 GT4 will be used for the first time at the 24h race in Dubai in January 2017. Together with the team Schubert and the factory drivers Jörg Müller, Dirk Adorf and Ricky Collard, the GT4 racing car will be put to the test under competitive conditions. In addition, further tests will be held in the 2017 season, before the BMW M4 GT4 will also be available to customers all over the world from 2018 onwards.
